히스테리아에 관한 임 상적 고찰

A total of 81 in-patients diagnosd as hysterical neurosis, based on the criteria proposed by S. B. Guze, were studied with respect to their clinical features, age, economic status, educational level and occupation. The results were as follows. 1) The admission rate of hysteria out of total psychiatric patients was 5.30%. 2) Teenagers showed the highest admission rate which was followed by patients in their 20’ s and 30,s. 3) The mean number of symptoms per penson was 3.9. 4) Classical conversion symptoms ranked first in; number. But overall, those were less than one thirds of the total symptoms. And symptoms representing autonomic nervous system werepredominant. 5) Of the symptoms representing autonomic nervous; system imbalance, signs revealing anxiety ranked first and pain known as the most common symptom in hysteria occupied one fifths of all symptoms. 6) In contrast to very frequent occurrence inwestern patients with hysteria, there were few sexual symptoms such as frigdity or sexual indifference; only 2 cases Complained of menstrual symptoms, 7) No differences was found in content and number of symptoms in relation to their age and sex. 8) Most of the patients were in middle and lower class in economic status and highschool in educational level; no significant difference in symptom distribution was noted in different economic and educatioinal brackets. 9) Students ranked first in admission rate and housewives were the next. But there were nosignificant difference in symptom distribution by different occupational groups.
