A Consideration for Legal Proceedings about Mental Evaluation — For the Evaluation of Disabilty due to Mental Disorders after Head Trauma Caused by Car Accidents etc. —

In this article the author introduced and discussed principal meanings of and practical problems arising from evaluation of mental status in the civil trial. Evaluation of mental stuatus is required for the judgements of the incompetent and compensation problems resulted from criminal action of the mental patients and from car and industrial accidents. Guidelines of evaluation of mental status were outlined with special concern about the following fields. 1) Problems in the evaluation of permanent impairment and principle of legal decision. 2) Problems in contribution rate of the accident. 3) Problems in the overlapping evaluation of neurological and psychiatric disabilities. 4) Problems regarding possible future change of work disability, necessities of future treatment, 5) Problems regarding care-taker and life span.
