The author reported two cases of organic mood disorder associated with hyperprolactinemia secondary to hypothyroidism. These cases can suggest a certain involvement of neuroendocrinological system through the interaction of hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis and prolactin in development of depression. also the author discussed the possible mechanism of neurotransmitters and neurohormones on the regulation of prolactin activity during mood change with review of related articles
