Diverse approaches have been attempted in understanding the schizophrenia, among which psychodynamic approach has been accepted as the most classical and valid one. However, recent remarkable development of biological research in psychiatry resulted in dual approachs to one disease and one patient. This article treied to make a possible comm unication between these dual approaches, psychodynamic and biological psychiatry with the theory of information processing. The brain is an organ for information processing, in which nucleus, neurons and neurotransmitters are serving some functions in information processing. Also, the disorders of thought and perception of schizophrenia can be undertood as the malfunctions of some parts of information processing, which are closely related with abnormality of function and structure o f the brain. It is more relevant to understand the emergence of schizophrenia in the basis o f neuropsychodevelopment than of psychodynamic development. Disorder of neuropsychodevelopment can be thought to be most fundamentally seated in pathogenesis of schizophrenia, then psychodynamic and psychosocial factors are added to it. This integrated understanding of schizophrenia is expected to give an important influence upon the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia in futrre.
