집합이론의 음악분석 수업을 위한 학습도구의 제안

A Proposal for Learning Tools involving Music Analysis Lessons in Set Theory

논문에서는 이미 조성음악뿐 아니라 특히 비조성음악의 분석에 대표적으로 사용되고 있는 집합이론의 학습을 위한 분석 도구의 제안이다. 이러한 집합이론에 대한 이론적 도구는 음들간의 응집성과 유사성을 분석할 수 있는 도구이다. 이로써 이 학습도구는 집합이론의 개념을 이해하고 악곡 분석이나 무조음악 창작지도에 적용할 수 있는 도구로써 T-톤네츠를 사용하여 설명한다. 이 T-톤네츠(Tonnetz)는 일정한 음정의 간격으로 음을 나열한 숫자판이며 집합이론의 개념을 도형화하여 응집성을 찾게 하는 도구이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 집합이론의 기초단계인 집합의 이도와 전회관계를 찾는 방법을 제안하였다. 이러한 이론적 도구를 실제 악곡에 적용하여 표준집합과 원형집합을 찾는 방법을 설명하고 음군간의 응집성을 비교분석하였다. 그리고 집합을 나타내는 그래프의 목록표를 그림과 공식표로 정리 수록하여 그래프의 모형이나 음정관계만으로 집합명을 찾기 쉽도록 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 소개되는 분석학습도구의 새로운 아이디어는 기존의 집합이론 학습에 보다 더 동적인 요소를 가미한 분석법의 제안이며 음악분석의 이론적 도구에 대한 흥미로운 학습법의 제안이 될 것이다.

The purpose of the present study is to propose tools that can help the learning of set theory, which is widely used in the analysis of composition music as well as atonal music in particular. Theoretical tools concerning set theory involves analyzing the coherence and similarity between tones. Thus, these learning tools can help the understanding of set theory concepts and are applied to music analysis or compositional instruction in atonal music, making explanations using T-Tonnetz. T-Tonnetz is a numeric keypad with tones at regular intervals and allows users to find cohesion by diagramming set theory concepts. The present study proposes methods of finding the inversion relation with the transposition of sets, which is a basic level in set theory. The actual application of such theoretical tools to music explains a way of finding normal forms and prime forms and comparatively analyzes the cohesion between tonal groups. Furthermore, the list of the graph indicating sets is organized and included as a figure and formula chart in order to allow users to easily find set names with only graph models or tonal relations. The new idea of analysis learning tools introduced in the present dissertation involves an analysis method that adds more dynamic elements than previous set theory learning studies as a proposal of a more interesting learning method for theoretical tools in music analysis.
