초등학생의 리듬감 향상을 위한 춤곡 지도 방안

The Teaching Method of Rhythm Using Dance Music Based on Weikart’s Beat Awareness Theory

본 연구의 목적은 박에 대한 인식을 재강화하고 리듬 요소를 경험하여 음악적 의미를 해석하도록 하는 웨이커트의 박 감지 이론을 기초로 한 춤곡의 특징적인 리듬 지도 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 음악의 근본적인 요소인 박, 박자, 속도, 강세, 반복되는 패턴과 같은 리듬의 중요한 다섯 가지 요소들을 중심으로 여러 춤곡들을 분류하고 웨이커트의 박 감지 이론에 기초한 단계별 동작 활동을 구안하여, 초등학교 중학년을 대상으로 한 춤곡의 효과적인 지도방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 특히 춤곡에서 두드러지게 나타나는 리듬 요소들을 음악과 함께 신체 동작으로 움직여보는 활동은 다양한 음악적 요소들에 집중할 수 있도록 하며 더불어 적극적이고 자발적인 참여를 통한 심미적 체험도 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 춤곡 선정에 있어 시대별 다양성도 반영하여 춤곡을 통한 시대적 배경과 문화적 이해도 도모하고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study Dance music has definite and regular rhythm. To make elementary school kids concentrate on various rhythmical factors using dance music whose typical rhythm type is moving alive in the music can be meaningful in that it promotes their concrete and intuitive understanding of abstract concepts during the period of elementary school which corresponds to the concrete operational period in cognitive development stages. Hence, this study examined rhythm education through Body movement and Dance music through studying on related literatures to suggest effective strategies for teaching rhythm through body movement activities utilizing dance music. Through Weikart’s theory about beat perception in particular, the study mentioned the importance of body movement activities in rhythm education and suggested stages of activities depending on difficulty degree of movements and factor of music which will be target of concentration. The study suggested a teaching plan with a goal of elevating a sense of rhythm by suggesting two classes to expand rhythm concept through various activities, such as imitation, improvisation, rhythm variation and rhythm accompaniment making the first class teaching plan which lets students concentrate on rhythmic factors and major rhythm pattern of dance music which have been experienced sensually through movement activities by stages motives. Rich experience and a confidence about rhythmic movement which is made to the music can be successfully expanded to other areas and for this, teachers should praise and encourage the students so that they can joyfully and actively take part in the activities.
