초등학생의 문화예술교육에 대한 인식과 음악선호 조사 연구

A Study on Elementary School Students’ Perception of Culture and Arts Education and Preference for Music

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 문화예술교육에 대한 인식을 조사하고 음악선호를 분석 하여, 문화예술교육 프로그램의 개발과 운영에 기초를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 G시의 J초등학교 4학년 120명을 대상으로 문화예술교육에 대한 인식을 조사한 후, 그 결과를 빈도와 백분율로 산출하여 분석하였다. 연구 내용을 분석한 결과 초등학생들은 음악, 미술 중심의 문화예술교육을 선호하고는 있었으나, 문화예술교육에 대한 다양한 프로그램에 참여하기를 희망하고 있었다. 또한 초등학생들은 대부분의 문화예술교육 경험이 학교활동에서 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 문화예술행사에 참여하는 정도는 한 학기에 1~2회 정도로, 실제 문화예술교육의 참여와 공연예술의 관람과는 차이가 있었다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 문화예술교육 관련 연구의 방향을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 초등학생의 문화예술교육을 활성화하기 위해서는 문화예술교육의 요구와 그들의 정서를 기반으로 한 기초연구가 필요하다. 이는 다양한 연구방법으로 문화예술교육에 대한 연구가 수행되어야 하며, 여러 계층의 대상을 포괄할 수 있는 맞춤형 문화예술교육의 연구가 활성화되어져야 한다. 그리고 초등학생은 학교에서의 문화예술교육에 의존하고 있으므로 건전한 문화예술교육의 정착을 위하여 체계적이고 연속성 있는 학교 기반 문화예술교육프로그램 개발이 시급하다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest basic data that can help develop and operate future culture and arts education programs for elementary school students by examining their awareness of culture and arts education and analyzing their preference for music. To this end, this study selected 120 fourth-grade students at J Elementary School in G City and examined their awareness of culture and arts education. Its results were analyzed by calculating frequencies and percentages for these students. The results of the analysis showed that the elementary school students preferred culture and arts education with a focus on music and art and hoped to participate in various programs related to culture and arts education. They were also found to experience culture and arts education mostly in after-school education. In addition, they participated in culture and arts events about once or twice each semester, indicating differences between their participation in culture and arts education and their actual viewing of performing arts productions. Based on these results, this study suggests the following research direction regarding culture and arts education. First, to primarily facilitate the culture and arts education of elementary school students, school-level basic studies should be conducted based on the students’ needs and emotions. To this end, studies on culture and arts education should be carried out using various research methods, and studies that can encompass various classes should be facilitated.
