미적 교육으로서 중학교 음악프로그램 개발 및 적용사례

A Case Study of Aesthetic Music Program for Middle school: Improving Creative Competence

본 연구는 학교 현장에 적용 가능한 미적 음악 교육 프로그램을 개발, 적용하고 그 결과로서 학생들의 창의성이 향상되었는지를 탐구해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 링컨센터(Lincoln Center Institute)에서 이루어지는 미적 교육방식을 토대로 하여 음악의 미적 경험의 구성요소와 행동 단계를 적용한 미적 음악 교육 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 중학생을 대상으로 총 6차시에 걸쳐 적용하였다. 학생들의 창의성 신장 정도를 확인하기 위해 마인드맵, 창의성 검사도구, 성찰저널 등을 활용, 분석하였으며, 그 결과 창의성의 4가지 구성요인 즉, 유창성, 융통성, 독특성, 정교성이 유의미하게 향상되어 학생들의 창의성에 긍정적인 변화를 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 미적 음악교육프로그램은 융합적 사고와 접근을 통한 창의성 신장을 강조하는 현재의 시대적, 교육적 요구에 대한 하나의 구체적인 실천적 방법론이 될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

This study aimed two things : The first was to implement an aesthetic music program for middle schoolers developed based upon both the aesthetic education process of Lincoln Center Institute and Reimer’s philosophy for aesthetic music education; The second was to examine the educational effect of the aesthetic music program in terms of the students’ creativity which has been emphasized as a core competence in the 21st century. For this purposes, this study conducted 6 sessions of the aesthetic musicprogram to 40 students during 4 weeks and presented positive change of creative competence of the participant students, after analyzing data collected from mind maps, MCTM-I, and reflective journals from the students. The result, then, indicate that aesthetic music education would become a concrete practice to satisfy socio-educational needs of the current society where creative competence and integrative thinking are required.
