중학교오케스트라단원들의 국어, 수학, 영어성적변화연구

본 논문은 오케스트라 활동을 하고 있는 두 개의 중학교를 선정하고 이 학교에서 2011년 현재, 재학하고 있는 단원들의 성적을 비교, 분석하였다. 단원들의 성적은 국어, 수학, 영어 등 세 과목의 전교 석차를 백분위 점수로 환산하여 활용하였다. 성적의 변화는 1학년 1학기 학업성취도 평가의 결과를 기준으로 2학년, 3학년 학업성취도 평가 결과의 변화량을 살펴보았으며, 이 결과에 대한 신뢰도 검사는 대응표본 t검증을 활용하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 국어, 수학, 영어 각 과목의 등위 점수가 향상되었으며 모두 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 둘째, 국어, 수학, 영어 각 과목에서 성적 변화폭은 국어가 가장 컸으며, 다음은 수학과 영어 순이었다. 셋째, 국어, 수학, 영어 세 과목의 평균 성적 역시 향상되었으며, 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 이 연구는 중학교 오케스트라 단원들의 학습능력이 점진적으로 향상되는 것을 확인해 주고있다. 특히 중학교 1년간 활동한 경우 보다는 2년 이상 활동한 경우의 학습능력이 더 많이 향상되고 통계적으로도 유의미한 결과를 보였다. 하지만 3학년의 등위 점수는 1학년 때에 비해 향상되었으나 2학년 2학기를 정점으로 다소 하락한 것으로 나타났다.

This thesis selected two middle schools which are doing orchestra activity and conducted comparative analysis on the learning ability of the members of orchestra who were attending the school in the present time of 2011. The learning ability of the members was analyzed using the result of converting overall ranking for the school in three subjects Korean, mathematics and English into percentage score. For the degree of enhancement of learning ability, changed quantity of evaluation result of scholastic achievement level of 2nd year and 3rd year based on the result of evaluation of the scholastic achievement level in the 1st semester in the 1st year was investigated and for there liability inspection of this result, response sample t-test was used. First, the ranking scores of each of the subjects of Korean language, mathematics and English were enhanced and all of these showed statistically significant enhancement. Second, the mark change width was the biggest in Korean language out of each of the subjects of Korean language, mathematics and English and the next appeared to be in the order of mathematics and English. Third, the average score of the three subjects of Korean language, mathematics and English also was enhanced, which appeared to be statistically significant. As a result of this study, the learning ability of the students who were doing orchestra activity appeared to be gradually enhanced. Particularly, the learning ability of the students who were active in the orchestra for 2 years or more in the middle school was enhanced more than that of the students who were active for 1 year in the middle school and as this showed statistically significant result, it seems that continuous orchestra activity for 2 years or longer can have bigger influence on learning ability. This study cannot show the result of research on if orchestra activity has direct influence on learning ability and what elements in orchestra have influence on it. However, the fact that the learning ability of the students who were doing orchestra activity was gradually enhanced in statistics has implication that the thought that orchestra activity is the factor which hinders the enhancement of scholastic achievement should be reconsidered.
