The purpose of this study is to identify Bartok s song cycle Dorefszene in interdisciplinary approach. This study employed the sequenced form among Forgarty s interdisciplinary approach. The subject of this study is the second grade 118 middle school students in Kyunggee province. Those students had never heard contemporary music in their life. This lesson was producted for three classes. Each class intergrated with art, physical education, social science, mathematics and drama. The first class included art and physical education related activities. The second class was related with social science and mathematics subjects. The last class focused on drama making. In art intergrated activity, after students listened to Bartok s music and read the poem of each part, they were instructed to draw paintings. In physical education related activity, students expressed their feeing according to the flow of music. In social science related teaching, students investigated both differences between Korean and Hungarian agriculture and similar kind of Korean music to Bartok s. Teaching related to Mathematics included the study of Golden Section and Fibonacci Series which are crucial characteristics of Bartok s music. The main activity in this session was for students to create a simple eight measure music using whole tone scale. The final drama making put all above activities together to consummate previous learning.
