Current society keeps changing and such change contributes to explosive increase of knowledge and generation of information-based society. As education should deal with knowledge, techniques, senses of values, and attitudes necessary for our living, what and how to teach in music education should be also changed. In these circumstances, music education at school should pro癶椀渀e active experiences of learning that can help students keep up with changing society. In this context, task-based music teaching and learning plan using multi-media is a positive alternative for this need. This study used multimedia for music activities through multimedia based data search and taking care of tasks, through which self-directed learning, doing music can be realized. And a practical model of the multimedia based music teaching was developed.
