The purpose of this study was to compare multicultural music preference of Korean, Korean-American and American on 5th grade elementary students (n=96). This study explored the influence of culture and various aspects on music preference. The questionnaire included 20 Likert scales with 20 listening examples to compare multicultural music preference among Korean, Korean-American, and American students. A one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to examine differences between Korean, Korean-American and American 5th grade students. The result of one-way ANOVA indicated that there was a statistically significant difference among the Korean, Korean-American and American 5th grade students on multicultural music preference, F (2, 93) = 36.45, p < .05. In addition, Tukey b Test (Post Hoc Test) showed that there was no difference between Korean-American and American on multicultural music preference, but the preference of Korean was different from those of Korean-American and American. This result indicated that the present cultural environment was more important than racial and parental background on the multicultural music preference of Korean, Korean-American and American on 5th grade elementary students.
