The Development of Web-Based Korean Traditional Music Education Teaching-Learning Model

It is well known that it is the times of e-learning with Web and Net for the 21st century. Using Information and Communication Technology is strongly emphasized in the educational practice. Music education is not an exception to this. There are module type multimedia teaching aids in the KERIS. Some softwares developed by the teachers as a result of competition for developing assistant materials. There are commercially developed softwares also available in the educational software market. However, most of the developed multimedia materials are bounded in western music, thus, the development of high quality traditional music education materials and sites such as traditional music education homepage and Danso teaching sites are highly needed. <Web-Based Korean Traditional Music Education Teaching-Learning Model> consists of the five stages, namely 1) analysis , 2) design , 3) production , 4) operation , 5) evaluation . Based on the model, the developed materials are categorized the following five area of Danso and Recoder , ‘Chung gan bo , Chang go , Chang dan , Mineou . The writer also developed ICT-based lesson plan for traditional music classes. The researcher sincerely hopes that this thesis could be a small part of dedication to develop and furthering the excellence of traditional music education for elementary school students.
