Empirical experiences until now reveal that antipsychotics may be preferable drugs in the treatment of organic hallucinosis. However recent trials of carbamazepine on organic hallucinosis sometimes show better response than antipsychotics. The author also experienced good results with carbamazepine in 2 cases of antipsychotic-resistant organic hallucinosis, predominantly with auditory hallucinations. Therefore carbamazepine trial on organic hallucinosis especially in antipsychotic-resistant cases may be recommended
