In order to evaluate the clinical utility of computerized E E G (C-EEG),we examinated 115 subjects by using C-EEG, E E G and CT and compared the positive rates o f each test A nd we reviewed one case in which the patient’s C-EEG were positive but brain CT and M R I were negative. The subjects were composed of patients who had neuropsychiatric symptoms after head injury. The results were as follows : 1) The C-EEG and CT were significantly more sensitive than routine E E G ; 2) For the patients with already indentified lesion by other tests(e. g., CT and others), C-EEG were significantly more sensitive than E E G ; 3) In the case reviewed, the patient’s clinical symptoms were well correlated with C-EEG, but not with CT or M R I. We suggest that C-EEG is a valuable tool for the brain injured patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms, especially when symptoms are not correlated with E E G or CT. But C-EEG is not a routine substitute for EEG and CT
