The author engaged in statistical studies on 1005- cases obtained from Seoul National University Hospital during the period 1954—1959. The material was divided into 4-major groups, i. e. schizophrenic reaction (Sch. R ), manic-depressive reaction (M -D-R), general paresis (G-P) and psychoneurosis (P-N), thereafter comparing studies of various factors were undergone. {See Table 1) 1. Male was dominant, generally. But, in the group of P-N, rather equal distribution was noted. (Refer Table 2.) 2. For the onset age, in 16-years old to 25 years old category was dominant generally. In below 15-years old category, Sch. R. group revealed relatively large in percentage than the other groups. (Refer Table 3.) 3. In all the groups, fresh cases were dominant. (Refer Table 4.) 4. Asthenic body type was distributed mostly in Sch. R. and P-N groups, athletic body type in M-D-R and G-P groups. (Refer Table 5.) 5. The more frequently repeated “ Schub” , the longer the average treatment period in the group of Sch. R and M-D-R, but converse result, in the group o f G-P and P-N, was noted. {Refer Table 6A & Table 6B) 6. Educational level was revealed superior, generally, but only in the group of G-P, relatively low educational level was noted. (Refer Table 7.) 7. Sch. R. group revealed more unfavorable prognosis. (Refer Table 8A ) 8. The cause of all the exprired cases were depended on the associated basic somatic disorder but one case of suicide. (Refer Table8 B)
