主題統覺檢査에 서 본 BORDERLINE SCHIZOPHRENIA 及 DRUG ADDICTION의 反應

The TAT was given to 20 Borderline cases and 17 Drug addict with ten cards out of twenty. These ten cards were selected from the view point of the expression of anxiety, aggression, deprssion, love in interpersonal relationship. The test result and conclusions are as follows： (1) Story composition and self integration are rather disturbed in the both cases. (2) In the both cases the expression of affect were generally disturbed compared with normal, particularly in the feeling of inrerpersonal relationship. (3) Abnormal interpretation is ten times more than normal in the both cases. (4) High incidence of homosexual tendency is evident in both cases. (5) Anxiety, depression and abnormal responses are more marked than other feelings. And in the area of sexual impulse an abnormality is also marked in borderline cases. (6) Failure and rejection are frequently revealed in drug addiction. It seemed to be possiblly due to depression and emotional confusion which could be easily found in prisoner. Aggressive impulse is also lower than normal or borderline cases. (7) Most of addiction cases missed the main characters in the story content which were men. It might be due to the withdrawal tendency in interpersonal relationships caused from the decline of mental function. (8) The factors of cooperation and construction were more apparent than other feelings. It appeared to be brought from the guilt feeling and regret as a prisoner though it may be transient. Judging from the above facts, author feels that there is an intimate correlation between borderline case and drug addict in its dynamic and personality. Withdrawal tendency from reality is more frequent in drug addict. However since they show the evidence of constructive energy, it seems to be quite possible that many of them could be saved socially by environmental manipulation and proper treatment
