전통 한국사회의 에디푸스 콤플렉스：에디푸스 주제 및 에디푸스 이전기 주제

The Oedipus Complex in Traditional Korean Society： Oedipal and Preoedipal Themes

연구목적： 프로이드는 에디푸스 콤플렉스의 보편성을 주장하였고, 이에 대해 몇몇 학자들이 전통 한국사회에서도 에 디푸스 콤플렉스를 볼 수 있었다고 보고하였다. 그들은 살부 욕구(殺父 慾求)와 근친상간 욕구(近親相姦 慾 求)에 대한 많은 증거를 제시하였다. 저자는 지금까지의 증거들을 정리하고, 이에 더하여 에디푸스 콤플렉스 에서 중요한 또 다른 요소들, 즉 에디푸스 주제(Oedipal theme)는 물론 에디푸스 이전기 주제(preoedipal theme)까지를 고찰하여, 전통 한국사회에 에디푸스 콤플렉스가 있음을 보다 분명히 밝히려 하였다. 방 법： 신화, 무당들 사이에 전해 오는 무가(巫歌), 전통사회의 제도, 민가에 전승되는 전설, 민속극, 백정들 사이 에 전해오는 소에 대한 설화, 효사상에 대한 연구자료 등 여러 문헌을 살펴보았고 정통 정신분석학적 입장에 서 재고찰하였다. 결 과： 에디푸스 주제(Oedipal theme)로서 에디푸스 삼각구조(Oedipal triangle)를 중심으로 전개되는 거세불안, 근친상간 욕구, 부모와의 동일화, 에디푸스 콤플렉스의 해결 등을 볼 수 있었고, 에디푸스 이전기 주제(preoedipal theme)로서는 에디푸스 삼각구조 이전에 볼 수 있는 두 사람만의 관계(dyadic relationship), 정상 적인 정신성적 발달을 경험하지 못하고 에디푸스 콤플렉스를 잘 해결하지 못하여 허구적인 권위상 즉‘Anal Phallus’를 형성한 경우, 이성의 부모에게 에디푸스 콤플렉스가 발달하기 전에 동성의 부모에게 사랑을 느끼 는 역(逆) 에디푸스 콤플렉스(negative Oedipus complex), 최초의 대상(primary object)과 융합(fusion) 하려는 욕구 등을 찾아 볼 수 있었다. 결 론： 에디푸스 콤플렉스와 관련된 여러 주제(theme)와 다양한 요소(factor)가 우리 전통사회의 문화와 생활모 습에 잘 반영되어 있음을 발견하였고, 따라서 한국 전통사회에 에디푸스 콤플렉스가 있다고 생각한다.

Objectives：Freud said that the Oedipus complex is universal. Some psychiatrists in Korea have tried to discover the presence of an Oedipus complex in their traditional society. They have identified evidence of sons’ wish to kill the Oedipal Father and their desire for incest with mother. Therefore, the author not only puts forth a variety of evidence for the Oedipus complex, but also lays an emphasis on other aspects of the principle(Oedipal theme, preoedipal theme, etc.) by investigating new inform-ation in Korean society. Methods：The authors looked into myths, shaman’s folksongs, legends, butcher s folktales, folk drama, filial piety, and traditional family structures. The authors reestimated them from a calssical psychoanalytic point of view. Results：The authors found castration anxiety, the desire for incest, identification with parents, and the dissolution of the Oedipus complex as the Oedipal theme. And the authors discovered dyadic realtionship, ‘anal phallus’, negative Oedipus complex, and the desire of being in fusion with primary object as the preoedipal theme. Conclusions：The authors found many themes and factors connected to Oedipus complex influencing our culture and life. Therefore, the authors believe that there is an Oedipus complex in traditional Korean society.
