영유아와 어머니 스마트기기 사용정도가 영유아의 문제행동에 미치는 영향

Relationship between children’s problem behavior and use time of smart devices in children and mother

본 연구의 목적은 영유아와 어머니의 스마트기기 이용 수준과 영유아의 문제행동과의 연관성을 알아보고 스마트기기의 과도한 사용으로 인한 영유아문제행동 위험성 예방을 위한한 기초자료를 마련의 일환이다. 이를 위해 영유아와 주 양육자인 어머니의 주중 및 주말 스마트기기 이용시간과 CBCL-TRF 평가척도로 문제행동과의 관계를 분석하였다. 스마트기기 사용 시간에 따라 상, 중, 하위 그룹을 나누고 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 영유아 스마트기기 사용은 주중 보다 주말이 높았으며, 어머니 스마트 사용은 주말보다 주중이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 스마트기기 이용시간이 많은 집단의 유아들의 경우 주의력 및 기타 행동 문제가 발생한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 영유아의 성별, 가정의 소득수준, 연령을 보정변수로 영유아 스마트 기기 이용시간과 문제행동의 관계를 분석한 결과 스마트기기 이용시간이 보통인 집단의 유아들에게 기타행동문제의 위험성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 주중 및 주말 영유아 스마트기기 이용은 영유아의 문제행동을 유발할 수 있는 요인이 될 수 있으나 단순히 사용시간만으로는 문제행동 위험성을 설명할 수 없었다. 어머니의 스마트기기 사용습관과 태도, 자녀에게 스마트기기를 제공하는 양상에 따라 영유아기 자녀의 스마트기기 과의존 및 문제행동이 설명될 수 있음을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the level of smart devices usage by children and mothers and the problem behaviors of children and provide basic data for prevention of children behavior by excessive use of smart devices. To this end, we analyzed the relationship between the use time of weekdays and weekends of smart devices and problem behaviors of children and mother who is the main caregiver. Logistic regression analysis was performed by dividing upper, middle, and lower groups according to smart devices usage time. First, the use of smart devices for children was higher on weekends than on weekdays, and the use of mothers smarts was higher on weekdays than on weekends. Second, it was found that the children in the group with high usage time of smart devices experienced attention and other behavior problems. Third, as a result of analyzing the relationship between children smart device usage time and problem behavior with children s gender, household income level, and age as correction variables, it was found that problem behaviors also occurred to children in the group with normal use time of smart devices. Based on these results, it can be shown that the use of smart devices on weekdays and weekends can be a factor that can induce problem behaviors of children. We discussed the dependence and problem behaviors of children on smart devices in early childhood according to their mothers habits and attitudes to use smart devices and the way they provide smart devices for their children.
