골신장술시 첨가된 혈소판 풍부혈장이 골형성에 미치는 영향

Purpose: Several methods are in use to increase bone volume such as GBR(Guided Bone Regeneration), autogenous bone graft, allograft and distraction osteogenesis. Distraction osteogensis is now commonly applied to atrophied alveolar ridge and for increasing bone quality and quantity various materials are used such as growth factors, bone morphogenetic proteins, freezed cartilage and platelet-rich plasma. Platelet-rich plasma is proved to have enhancing effect of wound healing. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of platelet-rich plasma on early stage of bone formation in distraction osteogenesis. Materials and methods: Six rabbits were used as experimental animals. Osteotomy was performed between premolar and mental foramen, distraction device was fixed with screws. In the experimental group, platelet-rich plasma was injected to osteotomy site. After seven days of latency period, distraction was done with the rate of twice 0.5mm/day and total distraction was 7mm. To evaluate early effect of platelet-rich plasma, animals were sacrificed after seven days of consolidation period. Results: Histologically each group shows active new bone formation. But in the experimental group, more cellular activity was observed and much more fibrou-osseous metaplasia was exmined. Osteoid seam was examined more thick layer and appeared various region. Conclusions: The data from this study provide the basis of clinical use of platelet-rich plasma in distraction osteogenesis for increasing bone quality and quantity, and augmented bone through this method would be appropriate for prosthetic recovery of edentulous area
