A new modality for sin g le - too thre storaton , osseoin tegrated implants has evolved as a viable altern ative during the past deacade. Replacement of a single tooth using a single osseointegrated implant is an accepted and satisfactory treatm ent. The aim of this article is to present the clinical outcome for single-tooth re hab ilitatio n used as routine treatment for a ll oral regions and in private practice . In th is study , clinical com parisons were performed to evaluate im plant loss in relation to implant length, diameter, position, opposite teeth, in stallation type, surface treatm ent. 308 osseointegrated implants that had been inserted between April 1997 and Oct. 2003 were follow -up. Follow-up tim e varied between 3 month and 80months. Finally, we concluded the cum ulative im plant survival rate during the follow -up period was 96.7%. 10 im plan ts(3.2%) were removed. No sig nifican t difference in success rate were found between the maxilla(97.7% ) and the mandible(95.9% ). The highest failure rate(42%) of the all area showed in the lower posterior region. The high survival rate of single tooth im plant led to the conclusion th at the use of this treatm ent modality is a reliable treatm ent for routine use in a ll oral regions.
