The Relationship between Satisfaction of Clinical Practice and Self-efficacy of Clinical Practice in Nursing Students

Purpose: This study was conducted to find ways to effectively deal with clinical practice stress and, furthermore, to be used as a basic material to raise efficiency of clinical practice education by identifying a relationship with clinical practice self-efficacy which acts as an inner reinforcing factor including variables affecting clinical practice satisfaction of nursing students. Methods: Data were collected through questionnaires from 190 students who were third grade in the Department of Nursing at J University in South Gyeongsang province. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression with the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. Results: In clinical practice satisfaction, the lowest point was 2.00, the highest 5.00 and the average 3.91, and in clinical practice self-efficacy, the lowest was 2.90, the highest 5.00 and the average 4.01, so it showed that clinical practice self-efficacy had higher points. There was a significant positive correlation(r=.708) between clinical practice satisfaction and clinical practice self-efficacy. In addition, as clinical practice self-efficacy was higher, as satisfaction of Nursing Department was higher, and as the subjects were older, clinical practice satisfaction was higher(F=86.680, p=.000, R2=.583). Conclusion: This study verified the relation between clinical practice satisfaction and clinical practice self-efficacy, and suggests that clinical practice efficiency could be increased by using it as a basic material to find ways to raise clinical practice satisfaction in the educational aspect.
