Purpose: The purpose of this study was to grasp of critical thinking disposition and metacognition of nursing college students and to verify the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning. Methods: This study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample for this study was 51 nursing college students from the one University located in Seoul. The survey was conducted between August 2016, when the second semester starts, and December, when the second semester ends. The data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 program. Results: This study showed significant results in metacognition after applying Problem Based Learning Method. Conclusion: Therefore, there is a need to give many opportunities to use critical thinking and metacognition step by step in order to cultivate excellent talents, and to evaluate the improvement and application of teaching method and its effect, in nursing education.
