高句麗 壁畵古墳에 나타난 信仰과 祭儀 양상

Study on religious mind and ancestral rites in mural painting tombs of Koguryo

고구려 석실봉토벽화고분 단계에서의 신앙과 제의 양상을 묘지명, 벽화와 함께 특히 고분 내부 구조에 나타나는 시설물을 주목해보았다. 이를 통해 석실봉토분도 대형 분구의 축조라는 외형적인 측면과 함께 주로 내부에 고구려인의 신앙이나 제의의 일면이 표현되었던 것으로 보인다. 고구려의 대표적인 묘지명인 안악 3호분과 덕흥리 고분의 묘지명을 중심으로 그 속에 담긴 관념과 신앙을 살펴보았다. 아울러 벽화내용상에 나타나는 상장의례적 측면을 주목하고 그 의례에 대한 관념과 제의 양상을 구체적으로 확인하였다. 이와 함께 무덤의 내부 구조의 변화뿐만 아니라 감실, 석상, 관대, 석주, 휘장 구멍, 迎門石등의 내부 시설물과 외부 시설에 대해서도 간략하게 살펴보았다. 이러한 고구려 벽화고분에 나타나는 명문자료나 벽화에 나타난 여러 정황, 그리고 내외부 구조와 시설물 등을 통해 고구려 석실봉토벽화고분 단계의 신앙과 제의를 이해할 수 있다. 이처럼 고구려 고분의 흐름상에서 두 형식인 적석총과 석실봉토분 단계에는 각각 다른 형태로 제의 양상이 발견된다. 물론 이러한 양상은 무덤의 형식의 변화와 함께 고구려의 신앙이나 내세관을 비롯한 정신세계의 변화와 함께 수반되었을 것으로 짐작된다. 고구려 벽화고분을 통해 이러한 고구려인의 신앙과 관념, 그리고 상장의례의 양상을 이해할 수 있는 것이다.

This study is on the religious mind and the relevant matters by wall paintings and the facilities in the Seoksil-bongto-bun (kind of tomb that is portioned with a stone and the rest part is piled-up by soil). Seoksil-bongto-bun have a big size, but express the religious mind or ceremony in interior of tomb. Especially the interior structure and the facilities or traces depicted on the wall paintings contain the religious mind and ceremony form (ancestral rites) of the period of Seoksil-bongto-bun of Koguryo. Thus this seems to be the reason why a Seoksil-bongto-bun seldom contains exterior facilities. Furthermore, the ancient Koguryo tombs had developed in two different ways in the level of stonefilled tomb and Seoksil-bongto-bun. Of course, these stream had accompanied the transition of tomb form and the religious mind or mind of the people of Koguryo. It means that understanding the tombs or wall paintings can lead to the understanding of the religious mind or ideas of that period. Diversified examination on the religious mind and the form of ceremony of Koguryo will be needed. In addition, research on Korean own religion or religious mind expressed on the wall paintings should be carried out.
