Exploring the meaning of Erudition toward open eruditional communities

이 연구는 평생교육계에 “공리주의적 신자유주의”가 팽배한 평생교육과 평생학습을 넘어서는 새로운 대안으로 부상된 배움 패러다임과 그것이 갖는 평생교육학적 함의를 논의한다. ‘공리주의적 신자유 주의’가 팽배한 사회로 인해 평생학습과 평생교육의 본질이 흐려지고 있기 때문에 새로운 패러다임 이 필요하다. 배움의 근간, 가치, 의미실현을 위한 새로운 패러다임이 배움학이다. 교육사상적인 차 원인 배움학을 평생교육과 평생학습에 연결하면, 평생교육과 평생학습의 토대가 튼튼해지게 되고, 그로부터 나오는 프로그램이나 정책의 방향 제시가 단단해지게 된다. 배움을 통해 삶의 치유과정이 이루어진다. 배움을 치유의 평생교육과 평생학습의 관점에서 본다면 그것은 “？？(mom=몸과 마음) 에 관한 의미를 만드는 과정“이다. 쓰임새를 위한 배움과 개조를 위한 배움은 “생명에 대한 경외, 끊임없는 새로운 기술과 지식에 대한 학습탐구, 매일 몸과 마음을 단련하는 연단조리”의 배움소의 3단 통합원리가 기반 된 프락시스가 제대로 실현될 때, 학습자는 주체적 자아로서 표지를 만들고 열린 배움 사회를 구축한다. 열린 배움 사회는 생성적인 열린 배움 주체를 목표로 한다. 열린 배움 사회에서는, 개인에게 언제 어디서나 배움의 방법이 되고 바로 배움의 장소가 되기 때문이다. 열린 배움 사회가 건설될 때, 개인은 이 사회에 자기의 배움력을 타자와 공유하며 모든 사회 구성원은 자기의 생애를 평생 배움 기간으로 삼아 자신에 걸맞는 컨텐츠를 선택하고 초연결망을 통해 다양한 배움의 장을 연다. 열린 배움 사회는 개인의 문화적 욕망에 대응하며 이기적인 혐오사회를 적극적 으로 개조시켜 생명경외가 기반이 되는 배움의 장을 열 것이다.

This research seeks to explicate the implication of the paradigm of erudition as an alternative to the mainstream framework for lifelong education and lifelong learning, namely, ‘Utilitarian Neoliberalism’ in the field of lifelong education. In a capitalistic society, the aim of lifelong education is transmitting knowledge as much as possible to create new markets, rather than realizing one’s self in a well-rounded way. ‘The Science of Erudition’, once incorporated into lifelong education and lifelong learning discourse, will help build a stronger foundation for educational philosophy for lifelong education and lifelong learning, which will not only clarify the essence and value of erudition, but also help people come up with a lifelong education and lifelong learning program or policy. The Science of Erudition’ will lead an internal revolution within the discipline of education and learning. Reflecting on erudition is part of the process of healing one’s life. From the perspective of lifelong education and learning of healing, erudition is a process of creating meaning with respect to “MOM”. When the three “Morphemes’ of erudition, namely reverence toward life, exploration of new knowledge and skills, and cultivation of body and mind, are integrated and the praxis based on them is properly carried out, then the learner will become an agent and create open eruditional communities. Open eruditional communities aim at an open eruditional agent, maintaining a place of erudition at anytime, anywhere. In such communities, an individual shares his or her life as an opportunity for erudition, and creates new ‘spaces’ for erudition by creating trans-networks with others and by selecting contents he or she finds interesting. Open eruditional communities will answer to an individual’s cultural desire, reform selfish society, and create a space for erudition based on the ethics of compassion.
