그림책 페리텍스트 탐색과 읽어주기 활동이 만 3세 유아의 읽기 흥미와 언어표현력에 미치는 변화 추이

The change trend of per itext exploration and reading activity of picturebooks affecting 3 years-old young children’s reading interest and verbal expression

본 연구는 그림책 페리텍스트 탐색과 그림책 읽어주기 활동이 만 3세 유아의 읽기흥미와 언어표현력에 미치는 변화의 추이를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 S시 J구 S어린이집의 만 3세 유아 15명을 대상으로 총 12주 동안 그림책 페리텍스트를 탐색하고 그림책을 읽어주는 활동을 하되 시간의 경과에 따라 정기적으로 대상의 변화를 측정함으로써 처치 전 후의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 유아의 읽기흥미와 언어표현력을 2회에 걸쳐 반복 측정하고 시계열 분석하였다. 그 결과 그림책을 활용한 페리텍스트 탐색과 읽어주기 활동은 만 3세 유아의 읽기흥미와 언어표현력에 긍정적인 변화를 일으켰다. 또한 사전-중기-사후의 효과는 시기별로 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며 유아의 읽기 흥미와 언어표현력은 사전검사에서 중기검사보다 중기에서 사후검사의 변화가 크게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 페리텍스트 탐색과 그림책 읽어주기 활동이 시행되는 기간이 의미있는 요인이 될 수 있으며 8주보다는 12주 처치가 효과적이라는 것을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the change trends of the peritext exploration activities on children s reading interest and language expression ability. 15 children from the 3-years-old class of Child-care center located in J district of S city, were chosen as subject. The 15 children participated in peritext exploration and reading activities with 24 picturebooks, twice a week for 12 weeks. A time-series design was used to examine the changes in the children s reading interest and verbal expression, over time with pretest, experimental treatment, midterm test, experimental treatment, posttest. The results of this study are as follows; picturebooks peritext exploration activities had a positive effect on the children s reading interest and verbal expression. There was no significant differences in pretest and midterm test in reading interest, however, there were statistically significant differences between the midterm to post and the pre to post. It can be seen that not only the experience of peritext exploration activities of picturebooks but also repetitive activities are important factors in finding out the pleasure of reading a picturebook. Based on this results, we discussed the field application of picture book peri– text search activity to promote children s reading interest and verbal expression.
