군 병사의 자존감과 군 생활 적응의 관계에서 친밀감의 매개효과

Mediating effect of intimacy between soldiers self-esteem and adjustment to military life

본 연구는 이론적 검토를 통해 병사 자존감과 군 생활 적응, 친밀감에 관한 이론 및 변수 간의 관계에 대한 선행연구 등을 근거로 가설을 설정하였다. 가설은 각 변수간에 유의한 상관관계가 있고 병사의 자존감과 군생활 적응의 관계에서 친밀감은 매개효과가 있을 것이라는 것이다. 이를 통하여 병사의 자존감, 군 생활 적응, 친밀감간의 관계를 알아보고, 병사의 자존감과 군 생활 적응의 관계에서 친밀감의 매개효과를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 강원도 ○○지역에 위치한 육군부대에서 자대 배치 후 군복무중인 병사 300명을 대상으로 자존감 척도, 친밀감 척도, 군 생활 적응 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 병사의 자존감은 군 생활 적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 병사의 자존감과 군 생활 적응 사이에서 친밀감이 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 병사의 군 생활 적응에 자존감 뿐만 아니라 구성원과 느끼는 친밀감도 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있는 것으로 병영 내 인명사고를 예방하고 안정적인 군 생활 적응을 유도하기 위해서 자존감 뿐만 아니라 개인과 개인, 개인과 구성원 사이의 관계에서 느끼는 친밀감에 대하여 관심가질 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

The current research, through field servicemen, sets up a structural relationship between a soldier s self-esteem, intimacy, and adjustment to military life, and verified whether this model fits in with the data. We also examined whether the soldier s friendliness plays the role of mediating between their self-esteem and adjustment to military life. This research, through theoretical study, set up a hypothesis based on an advanced research on the relationship of the theory and the variation on self-esteem, intimacy, and adjustment to military life. The hypothesis examination and the main factor was analyzed from a survey that took place in a positive research upon 300 soldier s, just dispatched from a military base located in Gang-won into a unit, using a self-esteem index, an intimacy index, adjustment to military life index. The results showed that the interactions between self-esteem and intimacy showed a positive relationship, and as self-esteem grew, the intimacy level increased as well, therefore making and maintaining a friendly relationship with other. and a soldier s self-esteem, fueled by intimacy, affects adjustment to military life. The result of verifying the mediating effect of intimacy, the effect given by self-esteem through friendliness and therefore decreasing the adaptability proves that intimacy perfectly mediates self-esteem and adjustment to military life. I suggest the we find ways to enhance not only self-esteem, but intimacy as well.
