The Relationship among Career Adaptability, Social Support, Career Barriers and Happenstance Coping Skills of College Students

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 사회적 지지, 진로장벽, 우연대처기술, 진로적응성 간의 관계를 확인하는 것이다. 연구방법: B시에 소재한 4년제 대학교 학생 328명을 대상으로 진로적응성, 사회적 지지, 진로장벽, 우연대처기술 척도를 활용하여 설문조사를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 변인 간의 관계를 분석하기 위하여 상관분석을 실시하였고 구조방정식 모형검증을 통하여 변인 간의 관계를 검증하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 사회적 지지, 진로장벽, 우연대처기술, 진로적응성으로 이루어진 측정모형은 타당한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구모형, 경쟁모형을 살펴본 결과 경쟁모형이 더 적합하고 간명한 모형으로 나타나 최종모형으로 채택되었다. 셋째, 대학생의 사회적 지지는 우연대처기술을 경유하여 간접적으로 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 대학생들의 진로장벽은 진로적응성에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤으며, 우연대처기술을 경유하여 간접적으로도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 분석을 통해 나타난 본 연구의 연구결과는 대학생의 진로적응성을 촉진하기 위해 사회적 지지와 진로장벽에 대한 탐색뿐만 아니라 우연대처기술을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안과 프로그램 개발이 적극적으로 이루어질 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify a causal relationship among career barrier, social support, happenstance coping skills, career adaptability of college students. Method: The subject of this study were 328 students from four colleges located in Busan. To identify the demographic characteristics of subjects and the overall level of the four variables, descriptive statistics including mean, standard error, frequency and percentage were conducted. Results: First, the measurement model consisting of career barrier, social support, happenstance coping skills and career adaptability fit the data well. Second, the results of hypothetical model analysis are suitable to empirical analysis on research variables and the prediction of causal relationships between the independent variables and the dependent variable is valid. Third, social support of college students has an indirect effect on career adaptability with the mediation effect of happenstance coping skills. Fourth, career barrier of college students has a direct effect on career adaptability and an indirect effect with the mediation effect of happenstance coping skills. Conclusion: The result of this study suggest the need of programs which can develop social support and happenstance coping skiils and reduce career barriers to increase career adaptability of college students.
