국내 아마추어 오케스트라 참여자의 여가몰입에 관한 현상학적 분석

Phenomenological Analysis on the Leisure Flow of the Amateur Orchestra Participants in Korea

본 연구는 국내 아마추어 오케스트라 참여자들이 경험하는 여가몰입을 현상학적 분석 방법으로 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해 비확률 표집 중 하나인 유목적 표집방법을 적용하여 10명의 연구 참여자를 선출하였다. 심층면담과 참여관찰을 통해 자료를 수집하였고, 수집한 내용을 바탕으로 1차적으로 코딩하여 체계적으로 정리하고 분석하였으며, 2차적으로 주요 주제들이나 현상들을 중심으로 영역을 분류하여 범주화 작업을 진행해 의미 있는 해석과 연구결과를 도출 할 수 있도록 하였다. 국내 아마추어 오케스트라 참여자들의 여가몰입에 대해 분석한 결과 네 가지 결과가 도출되었다. 첫째, 아마추어 오케스트라 참여자들은 무대 위의 연주를 통해 행복감, 황홀감과 같은 다양한 감정을 느끼고 있었다. 이러한 감정들은 참여자들이 연주에 몰입하고 활동에 다시 참여하게끔 만든다고 하였다. 둘째, 아마추어 오케스트라 참여자들은 본인들의 연주 실력향상으로부터 재미를 느끼게 되어 활동에 몰입하게 되었다. 셋째, 다른 사람들과 같이 연주를 하는 과정에서 유대감, 소속감 그리고 안정감을 느꼈고 이는 활동의 몰입으로 연결되었다. 넷째, 연구대상자들은 좋은 악기와 장비를 위한 투자, 음악적 취향을 통한 선택적 참여를 통해 스스로 몰입의 조건을 형성하고 있었다. 다섯째, 아마추어 오케스트라에 참여하는 것으로 생활의 활력을 얻어 더욱 더 활동에 몰입하였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과로 보아 아마추어 오케스트라라는 여가 문화를 소개하는 동시에 활동에 지속적으로 참여할 수 있는 사례와 방안을 제시하여 참여자들에게 긍정적인 여가몰입을 경험하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the leisure flow experienced by Korean amateur orchestra members using phenomenological analysis method. A total of 10 people are selected by purposeful sampling. To achieve this, the data was collected through in-depth interview and participant observation. With this data, coding was done as first step and group categorization was done as second step in order to achieve the right result from meaningful analyzing. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, amateur orchestra members felt a variety of emotions such as happiness and thrill from playing on stage. Second, amateur orchestra members became immersed in the activities as they got excited from the performance’s improvement. Third, during the performance with others, amateur orchestra members felt a sense of bond, belonging and stability, which led to the flow of activity. Fourth, amateur orchestra members formed conditions of flow through purchasing good instruments and equipment and musical tastes. Fifth, joining the amateur orchestra gave life vitality and became more involved in the activities. These results help introduce the amateur orchestra as a new type of leisure activity and report positive flow experience by participating amateur orchestra.
