이 논문은 학생 배경과 방과후 활동에 따라서 초등학교 1학년 학생의 학교 적응도 차이 가 어느 정도 나타나고 있는가를 분석하였다. 이를 위해서 한국청소년정책연구원에서 수집 한 한국아동청소년패널 데이터의 초등학교 1학년 데이터를 사용하였다. 분석 결과 초등학생 들의 학교 적응 수준은 성별과 방과후 보호자 유무 외에는 학생 배경 변인들과 의미 있는 관련성을 보여주지 않았다. 그 대신에 학교 적응도는 방과후학교, 학원, 컴퓨터게임 시간 등 방과후 활동 변인들과 좀 더 의미 있는 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학교 적응의 하위 영역별로 보면, 전반적인 결과는 유사하게 나타났으나 한부모 가정, 다문화 가정, 방과후 보 호자 등 가정 환경 변인들은 수업활동 영역에 좀 더 관련성 보였고, 방과후학교, 컴퓨터 게 임 등의 방과후 활동 변인들은 수업활동 이외에도 학교규칙과 친구관계 영역에도 유의한 관 련성을 보여주었다. 교사관계 영역에서는 성별과 학원 참여 변인 외에는 의미 있는 변인이 나타나지 않았다. 이런 결과를 바탕으로 남학생에 대한 학교 적응을 위한 지도가 강화되어 야 하며, 가정 배경의 영향력이 나타나지 않았다는 점에서 학교 교육을 통한 격차 완화의 가능성을 논의하였다.
This study analyzed the difference of school adaptation of 1st grade students by their backgrounds and after-school activities. It used the 1st grade dataset of the Korean early children and youth panel survey administrated by National Youth Policy Institute. In result, all the student's background variables except gender and no protection after school day is not significantly related with student's school adaptation level. The after-school activities variables such as participation of after-school program and private institute, and playing computer game show a significant correlation with school adaptation level. The separate analysis on the four sub-domains points out that family backgrounds such as single parent family, minor ethnic group, and no protection after school day have more significant relations with classwork, while after-school activities have significant relations with friends relationship, classwork, and school rule. Student-teacher relationship is related with only gender and participation of private institute. These results indicate that the difference of student's school adaptation could be partially closed by implementation of compensatory education programs .
