이 연구는 ??한국교육종단연구2005?? 자료를 이용하여 대입 입학사정관 전형 지원 계획 결 정요인과 대입 입학사정관 전형 지원 계획이 사교육비 지출에 미친 영향을 분석하였다. 입 학사정관제 지원 계획에 대한 로짓 분석 결과, 학생 응답과 부모 응답 모두 다른 통제변수 를 투입하면 부모의 사회?경제적 지위는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않은 반면 부모의 교육기대 와 교육지원, 학생의 내재적 동기, 학교활동 참여가 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 한부모 가정 학생들이 지원 계획이 있을 가능성이 더 컸다. 또한 학생 지원 계획에 대해서는 읍?면지역, 다문화가정, 전문계, 남학생이 지원할 가능성이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 입학 사정관제가 불리한 환경의 학생들에게 또 다른 기회로 인식되는 측면이 존재함을 시사한다. 사교육비 지출에 대한 토빗 분석 결과, 입학사정관제 지원 계획과 지역*지원 계획 상호작용 항의 유의한 효과가 나타나는데, 읍?면 지역 학생들의 경우 입학사정관제 지원 계획자가 고3기간과 고교 전체 기간 동안 사교육비 지출을 더 많이 한 것으로 나타났다, 반면에 헤크 만 분석 결과, 입학사정관 전형 지원 계획이 사교육비 지출에는 영향을 미치지 않는 반면, 사교육 참여에 대해서는 유의한 효과를 가져 읍?면 지역의 입학사정관제 지원 계획자가 사 교육에 참여할 가능성이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 경향점수를 활용한 추정모형 에서도 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 읍?면지역 입학사정관제 지원 계획자가 타 지역 의 지원 계획자와는 다른 방식으로 입시 전략을 취하여 그것이 사교육 수요를 증가시켰을 가능성이 있음을 시사한다.
This study questions who have plan to apply for college admission officers system and how this plan affect private tutoring expenditure using data of Korean education longitudinal study. The results of logit analysis on the plan to apply show that educational expectations and support of parents, internal motivations of students, and participation in school activities affect the plans of both parents and students while SES don't have a significant effect. Furthermore, students from rural area, from multicultural family, on vocational track and male students have a higher possibility to apply to the system. These findings suggest that the college admission officers system is recognized as an additional opportunity for college entrance to disadvantaged students. The results of tobit analysis on the private tutoring expenditure show that students who are planning to apply for admission officers system have spent more private tutoring in rural areas compared to other areas. On the other hand, the plan to apply for college admission officers system have a significant effect on private tutoring use, not the expenditure in rural areas in the heckman model. Estimation using the propensity score matching reconfirms this finding. These results imply that students from rural areas take different strategies from other areas when applying for college admission officers system, which leads to an increase of private tutoring demands.
