이 글의 목적은 초등학교에서 웹을 활용한 문제중심학습에 초점을 두고, 학교현장에 이 모형이 도입되어 효용성을 발휘하려면 고려되어야 할 문제를 살펴보고자 하는데 있다. 문제 중심학습이 학교에 적용되려면 문제중심학습이 갖고 있는 특성에 따라 교사의 역할, 학습방법, 시설과 도구, 평가 방법 등에 있어 여러 가지 변화가 있어야 한다. 이러한 변화와 맞물려서 문제중심학습이 학교에 효과적으로 적용되기 위하여 고려해야 할 문제로는 ① 학습에 대한 조건 변화의 문제, ② 교사의 역할 변화에 따른 문제, ③ 학습 방법의 변화와 아동의 개인차의 문제, ④ 인터넷 자료 활용의 문제, ⑤ 평가의 문제, ⑥ 실용성의 문제, ⑦ 교육의 연계성의 문제, ⑧ 학교환경의 문제 등을 제시하였다. 이러한 문제의 해결을 위해서는 투자를 통한 학교환경의 개선, 교사연수 강화, 교육과정에 충실한 평가, 평가자료의 개발, 교사의 사명감 고취, 보충학습지도 등 다양한 방법이 제시될 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 학교 관리자의 입장에서 보면 교수-학습을 실제로 수행하는 교사야말로 가장 중요한 환경이며, 현실이며 성패의 열쇠를 쥐고 있는 장본인이다.
This article intend to inquire problems relate to introduction and it's effectiveness of PBL in elementary school. The introduction of PBL in elementary school need various changes in teacher's roll, learning method, learning instruments and facilities, evaluation method and etc. Discussions are made on many problems in order to meet demands of these changes. The problems are the change of learning condition, teacher' roll change, altered learning method and individual difference, use of internet data, PBL depend evaluation, usability by practice of PBL, sequence between school levels, school environment and etc, Various solution to these problems can be suggested as investment for school environment, reinforcement of teacher education, curriculum depended evaluation, teacher's sense of duty, evaluation material development, supplementary lessons and etc. But teacher is stressed in these solutions. That is, the key to solve these problems from school manager's viewpoint is teacher.
