컴퓨터와 커뮤니케이션 기술의 급속한 발달은 인터넷이라는 새로운 가상의 공간을 창출해냈고 사람들은 기존의 현실 공간 내의 다양한 작업들을 이 가상의 공간 속으로 끄집어 들이기 시작했다. 인터넷의 상호작용성, 역동성, 편재성은 커뮤니케이션의 양상을 바꾸어 놓았고 사람들의 기억과 정보처리 결과들이 인터넷에 분산되고 공유되기 시작했다. 이러한 현상들은 교육 분야에도 예외가 아니다. 이 논문에서는 바로 인터넷의 이러한 특성과 기존의 협동 학습의 체험적 특성을 통합한 사회적 분산인지 시스템으로서의 공동체 학습 시스템 모형을 제안하였다.
The recent development of computer technology and network system created the whole new world of cyberspace which brought in a variety of works in reality including learning. The Interactivity, dynamics, and ubiquity of the internet change the communication style and the information and memory were distributed and shared by others. Based on those characteristics of internet and experiential characteristics of collaborative learning, a new model of community-based learning system is proposed, which can be regarded socially distributed cognitive system.
