이 연구의 목적은 사이버대학과 일반대학에서 운영되는 이러닝 강좌 상호작용의 차이점을 비교, 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사이버대학 1개 대학, 일반대학 2개 대학의 2008학년도 2학기에 개설된 전체 이러닝 강좌의 LMS 토론방, 자료실, 학습내용 Q&A, 자유게시판, 공지게시판에서의 상호작용 빈도를 분석하여 상호작용의 수준과 상호작용이 발생하는 LMS의 기능을 비교하였다. 그리고 3개 대학의 수강생별 평균 상호작용 빈도가 높은 상위 강좌의 상호작용 빈도를 분석하여 상호작용 유형을 비교하였다. 이를 통해 사이버대학과 일반대학의 상호작용 발생 형태에 따른 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사이버대학의 상호작용 수준이 일반대학보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사이버대학은 상호작용 수준의 편차가 크지 않은 반면 일반대학은 편차가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 사이버대학에서는 사회적 성격의 상호작용이 활발한 자유게시판의 활용 빈도가 높은 것으로, 일반대학에서는 학습관련 상호작용이 활발한 토론실, 자료실, 학습내용 Q&A의 활용 빈도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 교수자와 학습자 간 상호작용 비교에서는 사이버대학이, 학습자와 학습자간 상호작용 비교에서는 일반대학이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 3개 대학의 한 학기 전체 이러닝 강좌의 상호작용 빈도를 비교하여 사이버대학과 일반대학의 거시적 상호작용 발생 경향성을 분석한 점에서 그 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to compare the e-learning interactions in traditional university and distance university. For doing this, we compare interaction in e-learning classes of different universities. All thee-learning classes in three universities of different features in 2008 second year are selected for this study; Two traditional universities and one distance university. Frequency of all the online messages are examined to compare the rate of interaction with each other; Five on-line boards contain discussion, reference, Q&A, free, data. Also types of interactions in classes which has higher average rate of interactions per student were compared. The results are suggested as follows: 1) In comparison with degree of interactions frequency, distance university is higher than traditional university; 2) In comparison with deviation of interactions frequency, traditional university is higher than distance university; 3) In comparison with proportion of interaction types, distance university has most proportion in instructors-students type; the other side traditional university has most proportion in students-students type; 4) In comparison with contents of interaction, distance university represents that social discussion unit is more active than contents discussion unit; the other side traditional university represents that contents discussion unit is more active than social discussion unit.
