MIT의 OCW(Open Course Ware)를 기점으로 OER(Open Educational Resources)운동이라는 말이 나올 정도로 전 세계는 교육자료를 공개하는 것에 동참하고 있다. 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS)을 중심으로 우리나라의 고등교육기관에서도 KOCW (Korea Open Course Ware)를 통해 OER운동에 적극 참여하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 주요 사용자 중 하나인 학습자의 현 사용 실태를 통한 요구를 파악하여 한국교육학술정보원 및 고등교육기관의 이러닝 공개교육자료 서비스 운영에 발전적인 시사점을 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 분석 결과 첫째, KOCW 공개교육자료를 사용한 학습자의 학습 실태를 통해 학습자는 학년이 올라갈수록 과제 수행을 위한 자료 활용뿐만 아니라 개인적인 흥미나 관심이 있는 다른 자료를 추가적으로 찾아보았는데 이는 인식의 정도가 높을수록 KOCW를 통한 학습 동기가 높아지기 때문이다. 이들을 위해 보다 다양한 공개교육자료를 양적ㆍ질적으로 구비해야 할 것이다. 특히 보건의료전공의 자료를 보다 최신의 것으로 다양하게 갖추고 복지전공과 경영전공의 자료를 양적으로 더 많이 구비해야 할 것이다. 둘째, KOCW 공개교육자료를 사용한 학습자의 검색 실태를 통해서 고등교육에서 학습자는 자신의 전공과는 무관한 다양한 공개교육자료에도 관심을 가졌으므로 다양한 공개교육자료를 구비해야 하고 저조한 검색실태를 보이는 해외공개강의 및 노벨상 및 석학 특강의 경우에는 국문으로 번역문을 제공하는 시스템을 갖춰야 할 것이다. 셋째, KOCW에 관한 학습자의 제안의견을 통해서 학습자의 긍정적인 요구와 기대에 비해 KOCW 본래의 목적과 교육자료공개운동에 대한 인식이 상대적으로 뒤처져 있었으므로 학습자의 인식 제고와 인식 제고로 인한 학습동기로의 연계를 위해서 학습자를 대상으로 KOCW를 보다 적극적으로 홍보해야 한다는 시사점을 얻을 수 있다. 그리고 추가될 전공 콘텐츠 영역 및 제안사항을 통해서 동영상 콘텐츠의 상호작용적인 요소를 보강하고 기술적 측면의 문제점 해결도 필요하다는 시사점 또한 얻을 수 있다.
Many countries around the world are participating in the OER(Open Educational Resources) movement after the MIT had started the OCW in 2002. Nowadays opening the educational resources in the web becomes a common situation. As KERIS has developed the distinguished OER system; KOCW in Korea. Korea could take part in the OER movement. This study aims to analyze the needs and suggestions of students through the current usage of e-learning OER in higher education. Finally I would like to propose some ideas to the KOCW operation. Based on the analysis of the results, the followings are induced. (1) The higher grade students studied much more than freshman through the searching the resources in terms of both their major and non-major from the KOCW. (2) It is needed to update the resources in health and medical field and to upload the resources abundantly in management and welfare field. (3) The students were interested in the OER of both major and non-major field in the higher education. (4) The degree of students’ perceptions of KOCW purpose and OER movement is lower than the degree of students’ expectations and positive needs. (5) Enhancing the interaction between video contents and students and solving the technical problem in KOCW system are needed.
