본 연구는 취업에 성공한 진로성공자를 대상으로 그들의 진로성공 스토리 속에 나타나는 진로성공과 관련되어 표현되는 메타포를 찾고 그 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 질적 분석으로 10명의 진로성공 대학생들을 대상으로 그들에게 진로성공 이야기 속에서 나타나는 메타포를 분석하였다. 진로성공 대학생의 스토리를 분석한 결과, 진로성공과 관련된 메타포는 길, 성과, 운, 매칭, 시작점, 계단, 도전으로 7개가 추출되었다. 7개의 진로성공 메타포는 다시 핵심적인 구성개념인 원하는 것을 이루어냄, 놓치지 않은 기회, 또 다른 진로를 위한 진로로 분석되었다. 진로성공 메타포와 구성개념은 진로가 주는 의미와 중요성을 확인하는 것이며 대학생의 진로선택과 구직에서 다루어야할 내용과 접근방식이 무엇임을 보여주는 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study was to exploring metaphors of career success for university students. For this purpose, the interview data of 5 male and 5 female who successfully find a jobs were chosen, and they were interviewed individually. An analysis identified 7 metaphors(path, outcomes, lucky, matching, beginning, stages, challenge) relating to the meanings of career success. Based on the stories given by each interviewee, metaphors were collated and compared to reveal three distinct configurations that conceptualize career success as reaching the object of one's desire, doing not miss one's chance and career for another careers. Finally, the implications of findings are discussed.
