Rorschach Test는 Hermann Rorschach(1921)가 창안한 10장의 다의적인 잉크얼룩을 자극자료로 하여 개개인의 행동. 관념내용 등의 샘플을 추출함으로써 인격특정의 파악 내지 이해를 목적으로 하는 일종의 심리진단법이다(片口. 1974). Rogers(l951. 1961)에 의해 진단무용론이 제시되어 한 때는 진단방법으로서의 심리검사 전반이 아주 낮게 평가된 적도 있었으나, 작금은 그렇게까지 극단적인 입장을 취하는 임상심리학자도 드물 것이다. 한편, 진단적 측면에 지대한 관심을 가지는 임상심리학자라 하더라도 정확한 진단만 가능하다면, 심리검사에 의해 Client의 인격 전모가 이해 가능하게 된다고 생각하는 학자도 존재하지 않을것이다 Rorschach Test와 심리치료와의 관계는 소위, 진단과 치료와의 관계 라고 환언할 수 있을 것이다.
Effectiveness of the Rorschach as thc psychodynamic assessment of client’s personlity traits and clinical picture is examined in a case study of a 55 year-old woman who has the alcohol dependence syndrome by using Kataguchi (片口式) - Scoring System. Based on the Rorschach responses of the client, it is found that the client has dependency, emotional incontrollability， and escape coping tendency. The results indicate that the Rorschach can serve as a helpful tool for psychodynamic assessment of personality traits and clinical picture. Hence, using the Rorschach i n clinical setting can provide useful information for better planning of therapeutic programs.
