인간발달 과정에 있어서 부모 및 형제와의 관계 또는 다른 대인관계가 인간의 정신건강과 정신병리의 발달에 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 가족체계내에서 발달하고 성장하는 아동의 행동은 부모 및 형제간의 관계에 의해 영향을 받는다. 예컨대 자녀의 장애증상은 가족체계의 불균형이나 불안정을 반영하는 신호일 뿐만 아니라 나아가 가족의 심리적 이상과 고통을 경감하고 가족의 안정과 균형을 유지하려는 노력의 결과로 생기는 것이라고 할 수 있다(Haley. 1972, Satir, 1967). 어린시절 부모와 자녀간의 관계로부터 파생된 아동기에 나타나는 많은 문제들은 비교적 오랜 기간 동안 영향을 미친다(Robins & Rutter. 1990). 따라서 미래 성인의 정신건강이 중요하다는 측면에서 볼 때, 정서적 또는 행동적 문제를 경험하는 아동 뿐만 아니라 모든 아동의 정신건강을 개선하기 위한 노력이 필요하다고 볼수 있다.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of group art therapy on enhancement of relationship between parents and children. The method of this study was to compare two groups. that is, Parental Group Art Therapy and Control Group. 28 subjects were mothers who had been one or more children. They were randomly assigned in each group. Experimental group consisted of 14 persons and was held twice a week for 2 hours for period of 4 weeks. Pre-and Post- tests were given to two groups. Enhancem ent of relation parents and children was measured by Horner's Filial Problem Checklist. The results were as follow. There was a significant difference in the mother's perception of children's problem, Experimental group showed more significant decrease than control group in the children problems.
