학대받은(방임된) 아동의 미술치료 사례연구

A case study on a neglected child applied with an individual art therapy program

아동학대는 아동을 하나의 독립된 인간이 아니고 부모의 소유물로 간주하였던 고대회랍시대부터 끊임없이 존재하여 왔다. 20세기에 들어와서 비로소 아동은 권리를 가진 존재로 인식되면서 아동학대에 대한 사회적 태도와 책임에 대한 인식이 변화됨과 더불어 아동을 학대로부터 보호하고자 하는 사회적인 대책이 마련되기 시작하였다(이종복 1997). 그러나 근대이후 산업화 및 도시화에 따른 가족구조의 변동으로 인한 핵가족화, 취업여성의 증가, 미흔모 및 이혼과 별거 등에 의한 결손가족의 증가와 더불어 이에 빈부의 격차가 더욱 심화되어 가면서 이러한 변동에 따른 가족기능의 약화를 보완하는 가족지원체계의 불충분함 등으로 연해 현대 가족에 있어서 아동학대 발생 가능성은 더욱 증가되어가고 있다(Garbarino, 1977).

Through diverse art therapy programs for a child who has been under the long-term physical and emotional neglect since her birth, by dysfunctional interaction of a family disorganized owing to parent\' s divorce, this study is aimed at doing a diagnosis for the child\' s problems, reducing an anxiety of the repressed child, and assisting self-growth by inducing a harrnonized integration of the child into a presently-belonged famihι Especially, individual art therapy was effective to a child who has a little limitations to a verbal expression, and was helpful for self expression of a child with resistance, defence, and avoiðance against a verbal counseling. And this therapy made it accessible to the child’ s problem by letting her express inexpressible psychological trauma as a symbol. Seeing her/his own drawings and paintings collected up to now, the child could have a time to look back on her days. And also the drawings and paintings of the negative self expressed as a syrnbol gave c비ld care givers an opportunity to put into an empathy. Communication through the drawings and paintings made it possible for the child to widen a verbal expression and to get the confidence in order to express her own thought. However, it would be necessary to have a time of continuously supporting the child by care givers\' counseling and of understanding each other through continuing follow-up.
