동성애에 대한 이해의 부족으로 게이들은 최소한 곁모습이라도 조금 다르지 않을까 생각하는 사람들이 많다. 이 같은 동성애 성향은 생의 초기에 결정되며, 한 번 결정된 성향은 잘 바뀌지 않는 것으로 알려져 있다. 대부분의 동성애 성향은 청소년기를 전후하여 강하게 나타나므로 이때 알아차리게 된다. 이러한 이유로 청소년기에 갑자기 나다나는 동성애 성향은 주변 환경의 영향 때문이라고 오해하게 된다(윤가현, 2001).
The purpose of this study was to examine psychological charactelistics of homosexual client. The sample consisted of a gay college student. The instruments of measurement were the Rorschach Test and Thematic Apperception Test. The Rorschach test was coded by a procedure suggested by Exner(1995). The Thematic Apperception test was interpreted by Murray’s testing manual(l971). The conclusions obtained the results and interpretation of this study were as follows. Psychological response characteristics of a gay client was similar to the response of nomal adults. Therefore it is imperative that the counselor should not look at a gay client as the source of aversive person.
