가족은 개인의 생활에 가장 최초로 영향을 주며 가족간의 상호작용을 통하여 지속적인 변화를 가져오고 있다. 그러므로 한 개인을 이해하는 데에는 그의 내적 과정만 보아서는 안되고 그가 맺고 있는 인간관계 특히 가족관계를 우선적으로 살펴보아야 한다(장혁표 외, 1991). 가족은 한 아동이 만나는 최초의 사람들이며, 아동의 사회적 발달에 있어 가족관계의 중요성은 무엇보다 전제된다. 이는 가족은 다른 집단보다도 심리적으로 강한 유대관계가 이루어지기 때문에 가장 큰 영향력을 발휘하게 되며, 특히 사회생활을 하는데 필요한 사회적 태도, 정서적 통제, 기타 행동의 습관을 조성하기도 하며 아동기의 자기통제를 강화시켜 주기도 한다. 그리하여 부모의 태도나 행동은 아동의 안정적이고 바람직한 성격발달 및 사회성 발달의 원인이 되기도 하며 아동의 사회적 행동 중 바람직한 친사회적 행동을 발달시킨다. 특히 아동의 경우에는 학교요인과 함께 가족요인이 크게 영향을 미치게 되며, 핵가족 시대에 살고 있는 이 시대에서는 더욱 가족의 영향을 깊이 인식하지 않을 수 없다. 그것은 인간의 초기 인격 형성의 중심이 가정이기 때문이다(Clausen, 1966 재인용). 더욱이 장애를 지닌 가족들이 장애아나 그들의 가족을 어떻게 지각하느냐하는 문제와 장애아를 직접 양육하는 어머니가 자신의 장애아와 가족을 어떻게 지각하느냐하는 문제는 장애아동과 가족구성원의 삶에 큰 영향을 미지게 된다(김동연 외, 1998).
The purpose of this study is to compare the difference of family perception between the hearing impaired and the crippled with the Kinetic Family Drawing(KFD). Especially. this study attempted to reveal how the children feel about their family and what difference is exist between two group. KFD was used to 40 students in deaf school and 40 student in crippled school. Data were analyzed by T test. The result were as follow: First. in variables of style of drawing in KDF. there is not a significant difference between two group Second. in variables of figure\'s action in KDF. there is a significant difference between two group. The hearing impaired\'s drawing showed all figures in the drawing are isolated and remote each other family members. It is interpreted as their restriction of communication with their family members. On the contrary in crippled students\' case they have scored about the motion of figure, It seems that their mobile restriction makP this result. Third, in variable of character of figure, the hearing impaired usually concerned to subtle object like furniture and TV set, and neglect figures motion. On the other hand, in the crippled\'s case, they draw imperfect body image in their drawing. this fact is interpreted as the crippled have negative image abou their body. Besides, they dislike to think about their body image so that they ignore about the all figure\'s body image.
