본 연구는 국내에 미술치료가 도입되고 한국미술치료학회가 설립된 지 15년을 맞이하면서 미술치료사 훈련과정에서의 전문적 자질 향상을 위한 슈퍼비젼의 체계화를 위한 제안을 하고자 연구되었다. 미술치료사의 자격을 갖기 위한 수련생들의 양적 증가에 맞추어서 질적인 수준의 증진 방안을 제안하기 위해 슈퍼비젼에 대한 문헌을 검토한 후 체계적이고 효과적인 미술치료 슈퍼비젼의 필요성을 제기하고, 효과적인 슈퍼비젼의 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 슈퍼바이저의 역할과 기능에서 슈퍼바이지와 함께 미술작업의 이미지를 통해 슈퍼바이지와의 관계를 이해하도록 도움을 주어야 한다. 둘째, 슈퍼바이지가 슈퍼비젼의 방향성과 철학을 이해할 수 있도록 교육하고, 이를 자연스럽게 받아들여 자신의 치료적 능력을 갖추는데 도움이 되는 과정임을 이해할 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 슈퍼바이저는 효과적인 슈퍼비젼을 위하여 적절한 슈퍼비젼의 방법을 실시할 수 있어야 한다. 넷째, 미술치료사의 훈련과정에서 슈퍼비젼에 대한 질적인 확대를 이루기위해서는 슈퍼바이저와 슈퍼바이지의 관계에 대한 지속적이고 체계적인 경험적 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 미술치료 슈퍼비젼에서 슈퍼바이저의 자질과 슈퍼비젼의 체계, 슈퍼바이지의 훈련과정에서의 필요 능력을 밝힘으로써 미술치료에 대한 체계적인 연구와 발전을 도모하고, 슈퍼바이저와 슈퍼바이지에게 지침이 되고자 하는데 연구의 의의가 있다.
This study was to survey the trends of art therapy supervision and to suggest the direction of art therapy supervision. Fifteen years ago, KATA(Korean Art Therapy Association) was established in Korea, but system of supervision hasn't developed yet. It is necessary to redefine and systemize the supervision of art therapy in Korea. Through reviewing literatures on supervision on art therapy, the effective system of supervision, supervisor's quality, training process of supervisee, guideline of supervision were suggested. The major roles and functions of supervisor will be focused on letting supervisees to understand the quality of supervisor-supervisee relationship, 2) on helping them to understand and accept supervisor's philosophy, 3) on availability of various method of supervision, 4) and on empirical research on effective supervision.
