본 연구는 사과나무에서 사과 따는 사람검사(원문; PPAT)를 정상인, 정신분열증 환자, 정신지체인에게 실시하여 이들 집단 간에 반응 차이를 분석했다. 연구대상은 20세 이상의 성인으로 정신분열 증 환자 30명, 정신지체인 40명, 정상인 34명으로 총 104명이다. 그림검사 도구는 PPAT(Person Picking an Apple from a Tree)를 사용하였고, 그림의 형식적인 요소를 분석하기 위해 형식척도(원 문; FEATS)를 채점의 체계로 사용하였으며, 내용척도를 통해 그림의 내용적인 면을 다루었다 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 형식 요소 분석 결과, ‘선의 질’ 척도를 제외한 13가지 척도에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 정상인은 색칠 정도, 색의 적절성, 내적 에너지, 공간사용, 통합성, 논리성, 사실성, 문제 해결력, 발달단계, 세부묘사, 주변 환경 묘사, 사람의 표현, 보속성 등에서 다른 두 집 단보다 높은 점수를 보였다. 둘째, 그림의 내용척도를 분석한 결과, 사람과 나무에 사용된 색에서 정 상인은 일반적인 색 사용이 많았고 정신지체인과 정신분열증 환자는 독특한 색의 사용이 많았다. 그 리고 사과나무 요소의 생략 유·무, 사람의 얼굴 방향, 그리고 실제적인 에너지, 옷, 사람의 나이 등에 서 집단 간 차이를 보였다.
This study analyzed the responses of PPAT drawn by normal participants, schizophrenia patients, and mental retardations. 104 people were the object of this study: 34 of the normal, 30 of the Schizopherenia, and 40 of the Mental Retardation. Tools used for this study are PPAT(Person Picking an Apple from a Tree) and FEATS(Formal Elements Art Therapy Scale) for the analysis of the formal elements of the pictures. The Content Scales was used for the contents of the pictures. The results of this study are as follows first, FEATS has shown meaningful differences in 13 scales except Line Quality. The normal have marked higher scores than the other groups in all the scales of Prominence of Color, Color Fit, Implied Energy, Space, Integration, Logic, Realism, Problem Solving, Development Level, Details, Environment, Expression of Human and Perseveration. Second, ‘The Content Scales' examination showed that the normal participants used usual colors for trees while the other two groups used idiosyncratic colors. And there were significant differences among groups in the omission of the elements of apple tree, the directions of human faces, actual energy, clothing, and the age of the figures.
