본 연구는 집단미술치료가 지역아동센터 이용아동의 자아존중감 및 사회성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 C시 OO지역아동센터 초등학교 6학년 아동 8명이었다. 집단미술치료 프로그램은 2010년 9월부터 2010년 12월까지 주 1~2회씩 총 14회에 걸쳐 약 60분씩 진행되었으며, 프로그램실시 사전과 사후에 자아존중감과 사회성 검사를 실시한 후 Wilcoxon 부호순위 검정으로 분석을 하였고, 회기별 진행과정 관찰 그리고 학교생활화의 사전․사후 그림 비교를 통해 아동들의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 지역아동센터 이용아동을 대상으로 한 집단미술치료는 이용아동의 자아존중감 및 사회성에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 또한 14회기 집단 미술치료의 과정과 학교생활화의 사전․사후 분석 결과, 활동내용, 상호작용, 인물의 크기, 상징에서 의미 있는 변화들을 발견하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 집단미술치료가 지역아동센터 이용아동의 자아존중감 및 사회성 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is examine the effects of group art therapy on self-esteem and sociality of the children from community child center. The study subjects are 8 students in 6th grade of elementary school, attending C city's OO community child center. The study was performed between September and December, 2010, total 14 sessions with 1-2times a week and 60 minutes for each session. To verify the effects of group art therapy pre- and post test scores of self-esteem and sociality are analysed by the Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks test. Then, observation and recording of each session and KSD analysis were used for qualitative analysis. The findings of this study show that there are statistically significant differences on pre- and post test scores of self-esteem and sociality. Furthermore, there are meaningful changes in observation and recording of each session and pre- and post KSD analysis, such as size of person, contents, and symbolic meanings of the drawing which can be interpreted as positive changes in self-esteem and sociality of the children from community child center. The results of this study imply that the group art therapy have effects on positive improvement of self-esteem and sociality of the children from community child center.
