본 연구의 목적은 이야기 만들기를 활용한 미술치료를 실시하여 자발적으로 산출된 이야기에 등장하는 남녀 등장인물의 특성이나 변화가 자아정체감 형성에 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지 알아보는데 있다. 연구대상은 자아정 체감 위기를 경험하고 있으며 또래 관계에서 문제를 보이는 한 명의 청소년 내담자로, 총 62회기에 걸쳐 이야 기 만들기를 활용한 미술치료가 진행되었다. 분석 자료는 내담자가 만들어 낸 그림 및 이야기에 등장하는 등장 인물 중 자아정체감에 영향을 준 남자 인물 4명, 여자 인물 4명이며, 분석방법은 CA(Character Analysis)와 인 물화에 의한 분석이다. 이에 대한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그림 및 이야기에 등장하는 여성 인물의 성격 은 내담자의 여성적 자아정체감과 관련되어 내담자에게 지혜를 주고 정감과 기분을 표현하고 있으며, 내담자는 이를 통해 자신이 가야 할 바람직한 방향을 설정할 수 있었다. 둘째, 그림 및 이야기에 나오는 남성 등장인물 을 통해서 내담자는 자신의 사회적 적응에 대한 어려움을 해소하여 나갔으며, 자신의 모습을 새롭게 만들어 갈 수 있었다. 결론적으로 내담자의 자아는 이야기 속 등장인물이라는 매개체를 통하여 안전하게 드러나 정체감 위기를 극복하기 위한 인식의 연속성과 동질성, 단일한 자아체계의 통합, 독특성 확립의 과정을 보여주었다.
This study investigated the effects of art therapy using story-making, specifically the effects of the characteristics and changes of the male and female characters created in a participant-generated story on establishing the participant\'s ego identity. The participant for this study was an adolescent who had a problem establishing the ego-identity and interacting with peers. The participant received 62 sessions of art therapy using story-making. Four male and four female characters in the participant-generated story were deemed to have affected the establishment of the participant\'s ego identity. In this study, these characters were analyzed using CA (Character Analysis) and portrait analysis. First, the study found that the participant took wisdom from and expressed the feelings through the female characters representing the participant\'s female identity. The participant was able to orient himself properly through the characters. Second, the study found that the male characters in the story helped the participant deal with the difficulties in his social interactions with others and helped the participant present himself better. In conclusion, the ego of the participant was safely exposed through the medium of the story characters, thus leading to the perceptional continuum and homogeneity, ego integration, and the establishment of uniqueness.
