본 연구는 집단미술치료가 노인의 의사소통에 어떠한 효과를 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 G구 에 위치한 D노인회 소속 A노인복지센터를 이용하는 일반 노인을 대상으로 60~75세 전후의 노인 중 실험에 동 의한 20명을 대상으로 실험집단 10명, 통제집단 10명으로 무선배치 하였다. 실험집단 10명에게 실시된 집단미술 치료 프로그램은 일반노인 대상자들의 창조활동과 성취감을 고취시키고자 하는 활동내용과 매체로 구성하였으 며, 주 2회, 60분씩 총 12회기를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 측정도구는 Bienvenu(1971)이 개발한 대인간 의사소통 척도를 사용, 사전 사후의 변화를 비교하여 효과성을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 집단미술치료가 노인의 의사소통에 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 노인의 의사소통 각 하위 영역에 서는 바람직한 경청, 명확한 의사표현, 자기느낌 표현, 자기개방은 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보였다. 이는 집단미술치료가 노인의 의사소통 하위영역에 긍정적 효과가 있었음을 의미한다. 이에 본 연구는 노인의 창조적인 미술활동을 통해 개인의 긍정적인 삶을 인식하고 가족 및 사회적 관계에서 효과적인 의사소통을 하 기 위한 집단미술치료 프로그램을 제시한 데에 그 의의가 있다.
This study aims to find what effect group art therapy makes on senior’s communication. An object of study was the general near 60~75 years using A senior's Welfare Center belonging to D Senior Citizen's Association located in G district, 20 people agreed on experiment were randomly assigned to 10 experiment group, 10 controlled group. Group art therapy program applied to experiment group consisted in contents and media encouraging creative activity and sense of accomplishment, was implemented twice a week for 60 minutes each time totaling 12 times. Interpersonal communication scale developed by Bienvenu(1971) was used as measuring tool to consider the effectiveness comparing the change between before and after program. This study's result showed group art therapy makes positive effect on the senior's communication. In each subdomain of the senior's communication, desirable attentive hearing, clear opinion expression, expressing their feeling, opening themselves showed statistically significant result. This means group art therapy made affirmative effect on senior's communication subdomain. This study's significance is for seniors to recognize positive individual lives through creative art activity and is to present group art therapy program for effective communication in family and social relation.
