본 연구는 24명(미혼모 12명, 일반모 12명)의 성인여성을 대상으로 DWMC를 통해 그들의 어린 시절 학대경 험을 조명하는 연구에 대해 서술한 질적연구이다. 연구자는 성인여성 참가자들의 DWMC 그림표현에 관련된 개별인터뷰를 통해 얻은 질적인 데이터를 분석했다. 성인여성들의 이야기를 통해 어린 시절 어머니 양육환경의 중요성과 그 양육경험이 어머니로서의 지금 환경에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대하여 들을 수 있었다. 그 림검사를 활용한 결과를 살펴보면 학대경험으로서의 날씨표현은 날씨의 크기나 표현 정도에 따라 따뜻하고 평 화로움, 분노나 공포 등의 표현으로 양분되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그리고 양육환경으로서의 어머니와의 관계에 대한 표현과 색채를 통해 과거 경험에 대한 정서적 표현을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 폭력경험에 대한 대처자원으로 서의 어머니환경에 대한 경험의 유무에 따라 회복능력의 차이를 보였으며, 그림검사를 통해 얻은 통찰경험에 대한 고찰이 있다. 이렇듯 피험자들의 개별 경험에 대한 고유의 분석을 통해 양적분석에서 축소되어 지나쳐버 린 피험자의 미세한 감정 표현들을 발견하고 심도 있게 이해할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였으며, 양적분석의 타당 화 재검증으로서의 의의가 있다.
The focus group for this study consists of 24 adult females including 12 single mothers and 12 married adult females. The Draw-A-Weather and Child(DWMC) was utilized to investigate the participants' experiences of child abuse. The qualitative data was then analyzed through person to person interviews about the individual drawings expressed in the DWMC. The interviews revealed the importance to adult females of a nurturing environment in their own childhoods. Additionally, the experiences of the new moms shaped and influenced how they are raising their own children. The qualitative data gathered using the DWMC showed that an experience of child abuse influenced the along a scale of warmth and peace to anger and fear. Past emotions were expressed by means of color, and the focus group participants conveyed their feelings about their won mother and a nurturing environment. Also, their handling capacity for physical abuse showed a meaningful difference based on their individual experiences and whether or not they had mothers who provided a of nurturing environment. This study bridges its analysis of participants' experiences and the emotions that they neglected with a quantitative study. After providing a widened understanding of these subtle emotions, this paper will have a meaning of its revalidation as a quantitative analysis.
