본 연구는 집단미술치료가 성폭력가해자의 강간통념과 공감능력에 미치는 효과가 있는지 검증하고자 하였 다. 연구대상은 교도소에 수감 중에 있는 성폭력가해자 30명(실험집단 15명, 비교집단 15명)을 대상으로 하였다. 실험집단은 2014년 8월 28일부터 2014년 9월 26일까지 주 4회, 총 16회기의 집단미술치료를 실시하였다. 그리고 비교집단은 2014년 10월 21일부터 11월 14일까지 주 4회, 총 16회기로 성폭력가해자를 위한 여성가족부 매뉴얼 자료로 실시되어졌다. 연구도구는 강간통념척도 및 공감능력척도를 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 실시시기와 집단에 따른 차이를 반복측정변량분석 방법으로 처리하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단미술치료가 성 폭력가해자의 강간통념 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단미술치료가 성폭력가해자의 공감능력에 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 특히 공감능력하위요인들 중 인지공감에서 차이가 있었다. 이상의 결과 로 볼 때 집단미술치료는 성폭력가해자의 강간통념을 감소시키고 공감능력을 향상시키는데 효과적임을 알 수 있다.
This study aims to verify whether the group art therapy is effective in improving the Rape Myths and Empathy Quotient of sexual offenders. The subjects were 30 sexual offenders who were imprisoned: (the experimental and comparative group each consisted of 15 sexual offenders.) The experimental group had a four-sessions-a-week art therapy program, a total of 16 sessions from August 28 through September 31, 2014. The comparative group was counselled with manuals from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family for the sexual offenders for four-session-a-week, a total of 16 sessions from October 21 through November 14, 2014. The tools of analysis include the Rape Myths scale and Empathy Quotient scale. The repeated measure of two-way ANOVA was performed on the differences by time and group. The results demonstrated that, firstly, the group art therapy had a positive effect on the improvement of rape myths of the sexual offenders. Secondly, the group art therapy had a positive effect on the improvement of the empathy quotient of the sexual offenders. The positive effect was especially in the cognitive empathy quotient among inferior factors of empathy quotients. The results showed that the group art therapy was effective in improving both the rape myths and empathy quotient of sexual offenders.
