본 연구는 국내의 매체 관련 미술치료 연구 중 점토를 중심 매체로 사용한 미술치료의 연구동향을 살펴보고 분석한 것으로 1994년부터 2016년까지의 학위논문과 학술지 91편을 대상으로 점토매체 중심 미술치료의 연구유 형, 연구대상 및 치료목표, 미술치료 회기구성 내용, 점토매체의 사용정도 및 점토활동 내용의 동향을 정리함으 로써 점토매체 중심 미술치료 연구의 흐름을 알아보고 향후 점토매체 중심 미술치료의 연구에 도움이 되고자 하는 목적으로 연구되었다. 점토매체 중심 미술치료 연구유형은 양적연구와 질적연구를 통합한 연구가 주를 이 루고 있었다. 연구대상으로는 아동이 가장 많았는데, 대상은 집단이 개인보다 월등히 많았으며, 치료목표에서는 심리건강회복, 의사소통 및 대인관계향상, 자아성장과 관련된 영역 순으로 나타났다. 회기구성에서는 주1회, 11~15회기, 회기 당 60분이 주를 이루었으며, 전체회기 중 진단검사나 종결활동의 1~2회기를 제외한 거의 모든 회기에서 점토를 사용하였다. 점토매체 중에서 자연점토보다 대용점토를 사용한 연구가 많았으며, 점토활동 내 용에서는 소조활동, 조형활동, 자유표현/놀이의 순으로 나타났다. 연구의 제안으로는 점토를 중심매체로 사용한 연구에서의 용어 정의 문제와 점토매체 중심 미술치료 연구의 필요성과 한계점에 대하여 논하였다.
This study was investigated to research art therapy trends focused on clay media, by analyzing articles publishedinKorea from 1994 to 2016. A total of 91 published theses and academic articles were categorized based on the purpose of the studies into the following types: investigation type, object and therapeutic aim of study, session organization, usage degree of clay media, and clay activity contents. The investigation type that combined both quantitative and qualitative methods was the most frequently conducted. A majority of the object of study focused on children, and group therapy was studied much more than personal therapy. In the therapeutic aim, it appeared, from most to least often, in as the following order: for the psychological recovery, for the improvement of interpersonal relationships, and for the self-growth. The sessions arewere mostly performed once a week for 60 minutes for 11 to 15 weeks. It was found that clay media was mostly used in every session. In addition, plasticine (clay) was more often used than natural clay in the studies examined. As the clay activity contents, the order in which they appeared in frequency were clay modeling, clay formative arts, and free expression. This study suggested there are problems of with the definition of the terms and highlighted the needs and limits of the art therapy focused on clay media in discussion.
