어린이 미술교육의 현황과 문제점 연구

A Study on the Present situations and Problems of Children's Art Education - Focusing on the Art Teacher -

In children’s art activities the role of an art teacher is the same as that of a guide for a traveler. Art activity is not a duty or an assignment to children, but is the process of adaptation creatively to their world. In the process, an art teacher should not be a dictator, but a kind guide. The application of 'The System of an Art Teacher' is difficult, because at present, it is hard for ore teacher to take sole charge of 'art education' in an elementary school. Therefore all classroom teachers need a good comprehension of children's art and children's art education. Classroom teachers know the current of Modern Art Education theory, but since they have poor confidence they are confused in the actual practice. This has been shown in this study via questionnaire. Of prime importance is the correcting of the misconception that art teachers must have excellent art skins. Many teachers feel that they must always provide a model of excellence and therefore shy away from areas where they fear inadequacy. But this is a major misunderstanding within children’s art. Any teacher can be a model to children. Being this kind of model, not an infallible expert, is needed to encourage children to have confidence in their own efforts. It is imperative that 'The System of an Art Teacher' be promptly; perhaps ever more than other academic subjects. We wish to see them enthusiastic as they are visiting their classrooms from door to door with adequate and materials in their cart.
